Money from home how not to get scammed again!
When you are online and you expose yourself to the world at large you are always opening yourself up to getting scammed. Hopefully you haven’t given away too much personal information; if you have been scammed before though there are steps you can take so that even though you are trying to make money from home, you won’t get scammed again. It’s a tough act to follow; to judge who is just curious and interested and who is trying to scam you out of your money, your time, and your identity. However if you follow a few steps you can make sure that the money you are making from home does not come at the expense of your having to be scammed again.
Working at home is many people’s dream and if you are able to make money from home, you have probably felt the rub of somebody’s trying to do you wrong in one way or another. Hopefully you have protected yourself in as good a manner as possible; while precautions won’t always protect you 100%, there are things you can do to minimize your exposure online and prevent yourself from being scammed again.
One of the biggest mistakes many people make is giving out too much personal information to the wrong people. This is where getting scammed begins and ends for nearly anyone who has been scammed before; it’s your personal information so protect it well lest you get scammed again. Whether this personal information be your bank account number, social security number, driver’s license number, or other identifying characteristics like your birth date or your mother’s maiden name, when you give this stuff to the wrong persons, you are bound to get scammed. Perhaps one good way to avoid this is ask before you speak or write down this information; why does this person need this information? If you can’t see a reason that the person you’re giving the information to would need this information, then ask! The least that could happen is that they tell you! If you’re speaking with someone it can be tough so if you are still unsure ask to see their company’s protocol in writing. It may slow things down a little bit, but the benefit of not having your identity stole and not having yourself be scammed is voluminous by comparison.
When you have a home business, this is the way that you make money at home. Just because this is your “job” does not mean that you should take it any less seriously. By that rationale, your whole frame of mind should always be questioning the things that you’re doing so that you don’t get scammed now or ever again. While it may get a little exhausting to be in such a defensive stance all the time at your home and it may not come naturally, if you remember that you are in a business setting, that you are trying to protect your own identity, and that you may have been scammed before it, adopting this persona will help you from ever getting scammed again.
